Helena Connolly

Helena Connolly, from Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh, is a professional photographer and author. She worked for a while as a teacher of music and as a school chaplain in Scotland, and was subsequently employed as a pastoral worker in the Diocese of Kerry and coordinator of youth ministry in the Diocese of Clogher. Currently residing in Dublin, Helena is part of the Redemptorist’s mission team and works in Catholic Communications with AMRI.

She is a singer, songwriter and musician, having released two albums, most notably her self-penned album, The Reason Why.  She toured for many years with her band ‘Onora’ and has been involved in music ministry for over 20 years. She plays guitar, piano and flute. Her book ‘Prayerful Ireland’ is published by Messenger Publications and is available in all bookstores.

Helena is delighted to join the judging panel of the Vocation Music Award 2021 and looks forward to hearing the various entries submitted in the competition and discovering the wide variety of up-and-coming talent.
